Pads???

What do you use and how much are you paying.

I normally aim at EBC's HH Sintered which normally come in at around £50.

I know there are some cheaper makes out there but have been loath to try them. For me the brakes on the SP make the bike, the front stopping power is brilliant and add the engine braking it can out brake most bikes on the track I've ridden on.

Other ones I've seen are:

SBS Simmi Performance: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VTR1000-SP-1-SP-2-00-SBS-FRONT-BRAKE-PADS-Sinter-/380254121843?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5888e96f73#ht_2114wt_943

Gold Fren: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Goldfren-Full-Set-Brake-Pads-Honda-VTR1000-SP1-SP2-/280703896983?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item415b418d97#ht_2601wt_1139

Koyoto: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KYOTO-FRONT-BRAKE-PADS-2x-SETS-HONDA-VTR1000-SPY-SP1-/270510432251?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3efbad9ffb#ht_1532wt_1139

Armstrong GG Road: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-FRONT-BRAKE-PADS-VTR-1000-SP-1-SP45-2000-2001-/250863969591?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a68a86537#ht_1053wt_905

Any one use any of these? If I can get a set for between £20-£30 i'd be made up as the funds are tight at the mo!

Yeah, always stuck to EBC's but brake tech has come a long way and other manufacturers are upping the game. May try them Gold Fren.

Have been running EBC HH since they are the most prevalent here.
But to try something different, I ordered Carbone Lorraine XBK5 pads for the front.

Ah yeah, still pricey like the EBC's. Wanted to try the lower priced ones to get a judge on the quality difference. It may be a pointless exercise but need to lower running costs. I'll feed back on the quality once tested.

Well I went with the Armstrong HH for £32 for all four pads. I'll feed back how they go as I'm planning on taking her for a good run around Snake & Woodhead in the next week or two. After reading lots of reviews these got more thumbs up than down.

Armstrong HH Stinter on and bedded in.

Seem to be fine, nice feel and no fade. Think they are an affordable alternative to EBC so far.

The EBC i took off were fooked! Cracked and coming away, mind you they had about 1mm left before steel lol!!!
