94000 mile sp1

So here's the sp1 I bought a few weeks back. As it came except for a single genuine side panel ive bolted on and a better seat. I'll ride it as it is until it gets too cold then strip it down and give it a light restoration. Apart from the paintwork and refinishing of the fasteners etc Other work will include a much modified swingarm (let me know if you've got a cheap spare scruffy one I could buy) and wsb replica full system. Don't want to say too much in case it doesn't all go according to plan but ill keep any updates logged on here. Bike has a pc3 and ohlins Rear, though the latter needs a rebuild cos the preload adjuster doesn't. ..
Bummer the file size on the phone camera is too big to load. I'll see if I ca n resize them.

Let the fun begin

My road one is fairly low mileage, 2000 model with 19,000 miles. the chap I bought it off admitted he hated cleaning bikes and you could tell, 10 year of chain lube round the front sprocket :( but apart from being dirty it had been looked after mechanically

IMO standard gearing it shite,6th is a waste unless your hitting a ton, I'd have changed it by now but it had new chain and sprockets on when I bought it, my track bike is -1 front and +1 rear and way better to ride in lower gears

Have fun and keep us posted

It really is. I'm delighted with it.
Can't wait to strip it and start the rebuild.

quick update folks, ive started tinkering and am committed to reworking the look of the back of the bike to a more wsb look and maintaining an understated 'factory look.

So , Ive cobbled together a dummy exhaust can to make some mounts up. I figure that once I'm happy with the position of the cans we'll point the pipes forward and while we're there we'll produce a full stainless system.

I have the support of a very credible well know long standing and local exhaust manufacturer who happens to be a friend of old.

If all is well and there is sufficient demand, he say's he will jig up to manufacture replica systems.
To facilitate the exhaust I need a more sp2-esque swingarm, so I found a cheap one on ebay that is about to have some brutal surgery!
A few pics below of progress thus far. Any questions or suggestions I'm all ears, learning as I go along here folks!
:D

Starting to look good, been on the lookout for a new exhaust system, looking at ladybird but a bit expensive, would be interested !!!!
