Indicators

Postby Jayboy » Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:51 pm

Got some strange stuff going on, when I bought the bike it had resistors fitted to the indicators, I changed all the wiring, removed them as I also changed the indicators on the back, and ended up with an overly-fast flash rate.
So tonight I went to re-install the resistors and I thiknk I've fried the relay somehow...???
The front indicators are the oval flush ones - uinknown bulb rating, rears I have just replaced with Honda pattern ones with cleaer lenses, a la 2006-10 Blade - also unknown wattage.
What's my best option - will an uprated LED suitable flasher relay sort this out, or should I get a new original-type and some more idiot-proof resistors??
:D

I just fitted am led relay , don't like the idea of resistors getting hot lying around ?
Dunno if you can mix and match led and filament

yes you can mix LED and filament if you use an LED relay, it really is the best way. They electronic LED relays work independantly of the load through them so flash at a constant rate! In this case you can remove the resistors.

Ah, that sounbds like what I need, hoping - in a funny way, that I've just blown the relay. Don't like the idea of the resistors too much either, but didn't know if they only mattered while indicators were functioning or not?
Anyway - any ideas where from quickly - or a link, or a range, like Bikeit, Motrax, Oxford etc?

Right, daylight, managed to have another look and somehow the resistors have popped the fuse, so not quite sure how, so I am off to get one of these after I replace the fuse and get SOME indicators working - allbeit too fast...
