Tank breather

Hi Guys

I have recently purchased a tank for the sp that has a connection on the top for a tank breather/vent

It is basically a threaded insert that goes in a hole in the top of the tank

At the moment its loose and needs fitting in, I was looking at getting a matching nut to go inside then screw it in and seal it from the outside with some fuel proof sealer

Anyone used or seen a breather used on a sp before, I'd probably just bock it off

Cheers Rob

If it has a breather it has likely been a race tank. If you block it off you will vacuum lock your tank and stop the fuel flow. Post a pic to let us see the tanl.

My thoughts exactly,
but if you have a standard petrol cap it shouldn't need it unless the cap is blocked.
I also thought could it be to ensure the fuel can flow fast enough when racing and using high amount of fuel.

Her you go

As you can see the hole is in the top of the tank, I will be using the petrol cap off my road bike, there are no other connections or gubbings there, I cant see why I cant just block it off

What ya think guys
