The judder spring was added to smooth clutch engagement over the SP1. No slipper clutch there.
Since the clutch hub and basket are the same, it's no problem to add the judder spring, seat, and plate to an SP1 or remove them and revert to the SP1 layout.

The VTR1000SPW and Complete Racer both came with slipper clutches.
The Basic Racer was just stripped down SP1.

interesting  did Honda produce these "racer" and "basic racer" to order for Jo Bloggs or did you have to build them from kits?

No, both Basic Racer and Complete Racer came as complete bikes.
Although they did have a spare parts kit as well.

The major difference is, the Basic Racer was a stripped down SP1 with race bodywork and full Akrapovic exhaust.
Nothing that one couldn't do with their street legal SP2 (or SP2).
The Basic Racer went for $16.000.

Now the Complete Racer was a whole different story.
It was an HRC WSBK spec bike.
Close, but still not on par with the factory VTR1000SPW like Edwards rode.
But it was a far cry from the Basic Racer.
And it cost $107,000.

They could have saved a load of money and just bought a Red SP1 then put some stickers on it
