PC3r to PC

Postby CXey » Wed Jan 09, 2013 5:20 pm

I'm having fun trying to update the map on my PC3r. I've bought a new USB to DB9 cable but the Dynojet program for the 3r can't find the power commander itself.
Anyone else experienced this problem?

Righto managed to sort out the connection to the pc. Turn outs out you have to turn off some features on Win7 to make the computer find an old Skool com port that doesn't really exist. Bingo-bango PC finds the power commander!
Loaded map up, sent across, alls good in the world. This is with ignition on but bike off. the moment the bike is turned in though, connection is lost.....is that normal?

I've got the PC3 USB, so slightly different, but I've not actually tried firing the bike up with it connected to the laptop... It's a bit noisy in my shed, and makes my eyes sting if I don't have both doors open too :D

The only reason I can see why I would need the engine running whilst connected is to reset the throttle position values... Is this what you're trying to do?

Cheers,

Jon.

I had the same problem but it was a driver issue rather than a port issue.

With the PC3 USB you get live readings on the laptop when you fire the bike up and rev the engine.
