STANDARD EXHAUST MOD

Anyway anybody cut open the standard sp1 silencer to see what makes it so heavy and quiet, because if I can take out all the shit in there and make it more efficient, then welding it back together at one end, two at the most makes for a cheap fix.
Lets face it they are fairly good quality and look great, its just that they are too quiet, heavy and power draining.
If anybody has a cut away drawing of one I would appreciate a swatch.
