WILL SP2 CANS FIT SP1

Postby BIG FRED » Fri Apr 13, 2012 5:51 pm

I have seen a couple of cans on the old flea bay recently for SP2s and wondered if there are many differences or would they fit my SP-Y/1
Cheers

In a word BIG FRED no. The exhaust ports are oval on the SP2 and round on the SP1.

I think that any end can is interchangeable from one to the other but the link pipes are different on an SP2 to accomodate the revised swingarm, so as long as you use SP1 link pipes and the bore diameter of the can is the same you should be good to go

So are the header pipes a different diameter than each other? I too have seen some sexy GPR pipes for an SP2 that I would like on my SP1 if they'll fit....

They might be able to answer all your questions about GPR cans :)
