Gearbox sprocket nut

... what size is this fellas please, I want to change the sprocket for a 15T at the weekend, need to make sure I have a suitable socket to hand before I sit my ass on the floor.

If memory serves it's nothing special. I think it's about 14 or 17 mm.
I do remember my standard little socket set was good enough for the job though
And don't forget to let us know what you think of the new sprocket

ie.how much better does it wheelie

Cheers, I did wonder, had to buy some huuuge socket to do my old Daytona...!
Yes, will let you know, I did the same on the RSV I had, making 3rd gear possible at 30mph or so through town, I don't seem to get into top on the SP until very illegal speeds!
Made that much better, hoping to get good reults on this too. As for the wheelies, yeah I can imagine 3rd becoming nice...!

Had the sprocket done in the shop in the end while they had it in for a front tyre swap.
Very pleased with the results, much better at low speed / pulling out of junctions etc - will probably look into getting a speedo healer at some point early next year.
I saw big numbers on the clock which weren't realistic
