Gearbox sprocket nut

... what size is this fellas please, I want to change the sprocket for a 15T at the weekend, need to make sure I have a suitable socket to hand before I sit my ass on the floor.

If memory serves it's nothing special. I think it's about 14 or 17 mm.
I do remember my standard little socket set was good enough for the job though :thumbup:
And don't forget to let us know what you think of the new sprocket ;) ie.how much better does it wheelie :twisted:

Cheers, I did wonder, had to buy some huuuge socket to do my old Daytona...!
Yes, will let you know, I did the same on the RSV I had, making 3rd gear possible at 30mph or so through town, I don't seem to get into top on the SP until very illegal speeds!
Made that much better, hoping to get good reults on this too. As for the wheelies, yeah I can imagine 3rd becoming nice...!

Had the sprocket done in the shop in the end while they had it in for a front tyre swap.

Very pleased with the results, much better at low speed / pulling out of junctions etc - will probably look into getting a speedo healer at some point early next year.

I saw big numbers on the clock which weren't realistic :twisted:
