Countershaft swap

Postby Neil McClure » Mon Sep 23, 2013 8:40 am

My countershaft bearing let go during the Brands Hottrax Endurance round I was going to wait till I came back from Jerez but thats the weather turning so might as well get started on it. Some tools are away to Jerez so could only get as far stripping it to the air box as you need a long Philips driver and guess what? had to go and buy another. So its right down to the engine bolts and the swing arm to come out just bought a set of axle stands to sit the pegs on I have got Harris foot peg stands but I am going to have 3 bikes all with swing arms out so need something else to help. Will start a pic diary from the next session if anyone is interested.
Im just a happy chappy!

Got the engine down to the clutch hub removal and the rotor removal, could anyone borrow me these special tools? I will pay postage both ways. Neil

Don't forget to order a set of gray bolts for the engine cases.
The black bolts can be re-used, but the gray bolts must be replaced each time the cases are split.
Plus they use a torque + angle method (refer to the service manual).
