Gearbox output shaft bearing

Postby Neil McClure » Tue Sep 10, 2013 10:07 pm

My countershaft bearing collapsed at the weekend during the Hottrax endurance at Brands, anyone had this go? how easy a fix is it? can I just split the case and replace?

I see your post was in September 2013, but in case no one answered your question, the engine will need to be removed and the the cases split.
The countershaft bearing is pressed onto the countershaft, must be replaced as an assembly.
That being said, I suppose it's possible to cross-reference the bearing. then press off the old and on with the new.
