Just a quickie, can someone confirm that the SP shims are 9.48mm in diameter.....?

yes mate - 9.48mm for the rc51 and firestorms.

i can recommend the hotcam shim kit for about 70 notes - more shims than you can ever use.
you get 3-4 of each size in 0.05 increments up to 3.2 in case you ever decide to go for a cam regrind :)

if youre doing the shim job, get yourself a magnet on a stick cos it makes it 10x easier as it lift the buckets off with the shim stuck inside rather than fishing about for the slippy little fker lol

i'd lend you my kit but i never got it back last time i borrered it out lol. :angry-banghead:

this one. you get 2 boxes of shims, about 300 in total iirc

wiseco also do a similar set but its a bit dearer.

* dont forget if you are ordering from the states get the seller to mark the parcel as gift with a $10 value or you will get hit with import tax and it will piss you off!

i know where to come now when i need the odd shim lol!

pity they dont do the single box for half the cost from say 1.50 - 1.90 as that's all you'll ever need unless you get a set of reprofiled cams with smaller base circle

I had to buy 6 x 1.75 when i shimmed my SP2 .......
Always keep it black side down and shiney side up....
